Visitor Log

A record of all visitors who entered a location over a given time period, with arrival and departure timestamps.

A visitor log is the audit trail of who came to a location, when they arrived, and when they left. It's a compliance requirement in regulated industries (healthcare, ITAR-controlled facilities) and a good practice everywhere else.

Modern visitor logs are kept in the VMS database; paper sign-in books are still common but don't satisfy most modern audit requirements.
