Duty of Care (Visitor Context)

The legal and practical responsibility a host has to ensure visitors to their location are safe and accounted for.

Duty of care in a visitor context means the host is responsible for knowing who is on site, ensuring they can evacuate safely in an emergency, and meeting any occupational or insurance requirements for visitor management.

For large organizations this drives features like evacuation lists and muster-roll reports. For solo practitioners it usually reduces to: have a record of who is coming, know when they arrived, and have a way to contact them.
